7th Grade Football
7th Grade Football - Team Overview
The goal of the McCracken Middle School football program is to build young men of character, to foster an atmosphere of hard work, effort, and discipline that leads to avenues outside our program. We strive to push the student-athletes to accept the idea that we can be champions while respecting our traditions and expectations. As a coaching staff we want to create an environment that will push our young men to make positive life choices, one in which all can do. Our plan for student-athletes is to create a family atmosphere in the hopes that they will build on our tradition and understand the responsibility of passing on the life-lessons learned here to their family and friends. A typical practice begins immediately after school and will end at 5:30, please plan to have transportation for your child, coaches are not available to provide supervision after 5:45. Spartanburg School District 7 prohibits coaches from transporting athletes in their personal vehicle. Athletes can also expect to take part in pre-practice conditioning, individual position development, and team scrimmages. 7th grade football games will be played on Wednesday and 8th grade will play on Thursdays, all games begin at 5:00pm. The Eagles football program is open to 7th and 8th grade students only. Discipline in the school and in public will be expected of our athletes at all times. Aside from teaching the fundamentals of the game, our athletes are expected to take part in off-season training. Off-season training includes speed and strength conditioning, spring training, and practices/tournaments. We will prepare, practice and compete to achieve victory on the field, in the classroom, and in life.
